Quick Review: The Copper Bodice, M.C.A. Hogarth

Summary: A young noble maiden is made the bait in her prince's hunt for an alicorn. The beast is wounded, but escapes. Soon after the maiden finds a beautiful young woman trapped in a most cruel metal corset that seems to defy attempts to remove it.

Review: This short story (4,527 words) by haikujaguar is somewhere between a fairy tale and a horror story, with inexplicable magic and an ending that's anything but happy. It's also pretty triggery if you're sensitive about sexual abuse, but if you can get past that it's worth reading for Hogath's usual lyrical style. With those caveats I consider it worth the $0.99 price.
