I thought the Morphs were mostly biological. Royce? Are even the advanced morphs machines underneath? (i.e., if hulk rips one apart, do we have a gory scene, or a dismantling-of-machine scene?)
Morphs are mostly machine. Skin and fur are cosmetic, only "alive" in the most basic sense, allowing for some self-repair. Cut though the top layer of skin and fur and you'd find a basic nutrient feed layer keeping the skin alive, and a plastic and or aluminum frame underneath for basic morphs, plus some biomorphic padding for hugability depending on the design.
So they aren't androids, in the sense of the original definition of an artificially created biological lifeform, or the newer version like in Transhuman Space, of something basically printed from biological components.
