Despite the
oh so horrified reactions of some people, I find the idea of two female characters in their mid to early twenties looking deeply into each other's eyes while holding hands (romantic music rising naturally) considerably less squicky than Aang and Katara sharing a deep and romantic kiss at the end of the original Last Airbender series. Because the former was between two adults, and the latter was between a girl and a boy who were just fourteen and barely thirteen.
