Yesterday I had class from 5-7 (but since apparently I'm a dork, and not in tune with Cal Poly time, I'm going to say that I was really in class from 5:10 -7pm...HA HA HA !!) Anyways, two things took place while I was in class. 1.) A meeting for new officials for Intramural Sports, and 2.) The foreign policy debate between John Kerry and George W. Bush. Now as much as I would have liked to have gone to the IM meeting so that I could have gotten the payroll stuff taken care of, instead of having to go back to campus today to do it, and also picked up my officials jersey (another assignment today), I really would have liked to have watched the debate live. There is something about having to watch a debate on reruns AFTER having listened to thousands of political pundits go on and on about who won, AND hearing about the initial feelings from voters on who did better.
*Sidenote: Initial polls have Kerry having "won" this round*
However, I was able to catch parts of it on C-SPAN, so I did feel as if I too was a part of the judging public....and boy did I feel great afterwards (sarcasm). Nevertheless, I was expecting more from President Bush because of his record in past debates. I witnessed his desecration of Al Gore in the 2000 debates, and I was content to sit down on the couch with a whole Tombstone pizza in front of me, and watch as he pummeled Kerry left and right on his botox injected face (It's true I swear....the man has too few wrinkles for his age and his tenure in government office). Yet what I saw was what appeared to be a president a bit irritated, taking too few major shots at his opponent, and Mr. Senator from Massachusetts seeming poised, intelligent and confident in his delivery. I will say that even though I do not care for many of President Bush's policies, I was utterly shocked and dismayed at his performance. It's like going to a Giants game, ordering Garlic Fries, getting the fries, and then wondering "Where the hell's the garlic ?". Okay, that was a bad analogy, but nevermind that. Ring up round one for John Kerry.

Now I'm off to campus to run errands.
