A new mega ultra duper supermarket store (although not as big as seen on Wall-e) opened lately in my city, and although things are generally more expensive than in other stores, and now and then they look kind of incompetent (for example, running out of cider on Christmas Eve and failing to re-stock before New Year), they make up for some of it by selling stuff you can't find elsewhere.
Like Heinz Dill Delish, which I'm currently enjoying in a tuna and potato salad, omnomnom <3! It might not seem a big deal, unless you're a big pickles lover and you live in a city where they can only be found in McDonald's hamburgers and, by the gallon, at Sam's Club price club.
Also, new store has a lot of spices and sauces and flours and ingredients for not-Mexican / not-American food, and a whole aisle for low salt, no salt, kosher, diabetic, lactose intolerant, gluten free food! My dad's last year would have been more comfortable and his diet more varied if we'd had the option of buying there back in 2008.
