After Cardenal Iñiguez's declaration (When asked during a press conference in the city of Aguascalientes for his opinion on the question now before the court, the ecclesiastic hierarch asked reporters,
“How would you like to be adopted by a couple of faggots or lesbians?”*), I really needed this:
Mexico’s Supreme Court voted Monday to uphold a Mexico City law allowing adoptions by same-sex couples. Justices voted 9 to 2 against challenges presented by federal prosecutors and others who had argued that the law failed to protect children against discrimination. The law applies only in Mexico City, but other states must respect adoptions made there. [

*I'm sure, Mr. Iñiguez, that many children whose heterosexual (biological/adoptive) parents mistreat them, as well as those with no parents, wouldn't mind as much as you think. I know I'd have liked it, as long as they loved each other and loved me.
