Awesomesauce, indeed. I particularly liked that there were four geniuses (four!!) in the episode, and each was different to the others. The first one, the one that approached Reid after the conference, first made me think about Nathan Harris, but when he explains who he is and Reid has his totally fanboy moment, I was like, 'oh, MGG, why so precious :3 :3'. Then, when it became obvious that evil!genius was totally in love with his childhood friend (I mean, your soulmate is in front of you!!) I wondered, for the first time, what Ethan and Reid friendship was like. They were close enough that they almost ended in the FBI together, so they must have dome some crime talking as a hobby as well, right? Oh, the paralels.

And then there was the eviler!genius (and the memory of the eviler twin), which is someone Reid could have turned into; and that along with the evil!genius totally thinks himself above the rest of the world, which is so unlike Reid, that only helps him be even more awesome in this episode. And the scene where he's sitting alone and looking at the stars, and, basically, all the things? It was a Reid Fest, so much pretty to look at, so many comparisons to make, and I have feelings and I have thoughs.

The scene where he looks into the car and says it's not the Zodiac Killer, because sometimes 'he just knows'? Awesome. Especially in the context of the internal searching he's doing, because there's nobody else in the team that can do exactly what he does. I just wish they hadn't gone to the common places of the nervous-when-public-talking; it felt (to me) like they are giving him one thing he still sucks at to avoid him being so perfect, the scene could have been avoided. Especially because of the other scene I didn't feel comfortable with, when he interrupts and stands in front of the cameras and is in no way nervous. It was amazing, and I love bitchy!Reid, but here it felt more like a ploy to have the UNSUB single him out.

It was more of a Rossi moment, you know?

... as I said, I have thoughts.

Yeah, it's kind of a common stereotype though that genius(es) have issues with public speaking, or social anxiety in general, so I figure that's where they were going with THAT.

I can see you have the THOUGHTS! And whatever it takes to get your Reid!Muse flowing - I approve! Although you being behind me on the episodes doesn't work for my inability to form new synapses because I forget ALL the things, as soon as I see them! Except the Pretty. No one forgets the Pretty.... :D

Well, it was shown on previous episodes (with Gideon, and then with Rossi) that he just doesn't get the public speaking thing when nervous and probably when he's not sharing the attention. And that makes me wonder why in hell did they send him to a book-related conference. It is not like they are recruting, which I could see like compulsory.

Maybe the writer is Rossi's rival, and he arranged for it to be Reid the one who gives the conference? Maybe Reid, after realizing how much practice helped with his shooting, is trying to use the same tactic for public-speaking?

As for my muse ... *runs in circles* ... it is working overtime. There are many plots in the ReidMorgan meme (http://morgan-reidkink.livejournal.com/818.html) that my muse has latched on, but it wants to develop whole plots and universes and such. I don't have time to write all of this, muse! *shakes tiny fist*

See, about the pretty, I finally got the tumblr allure. I made myself some feeds for certain CM tumblr fans, for my Dreamwidth journal, and the pretty pictures are always showing up :D. It is so beautiful, and it is as well an interesting cross-study of the diverse nature in the different social media tools available, and how techs, assorted geeks, fans and news buffs behave in each one, and how news and memes and images are introduced differently, if at all.

(I should be working on my thesis, allow me to practice my i'm-an-adult-seriously vocab)
