"Good Luck"

Last night was one of the few times that I was on the verve of an anxiety/panic attack that centered around me absolutely NEEDING to get out of the house.  I won't get into the specifics but, let's just say, I don't want to be at home right now.  I texted a couple of friends a couple of friends and bolted.  Those friends couldn't meet up with me right away but, when I got in my car and turned the corner, another family friend had just pulled up to her curb.  I stopped to greet her and filled her in on my anxiousness.  She immediately saw that I was on the verge of tears and told me to park it behind her (my car that is) and get in (her car).
We rode up to Starbucks and grabbed something to drink.  After that, we continued driving around, talking, and such.  I forced to talk about stuff in order to get my mind off of things and she went so far as to make me laugh a few times.  That definitely helped me to calm down quite a bit.  It's always great to have people who will stop everything to get you back to normal, even if they have their own troubles (including having to work a long day on the job front that day).  I am going to have to figure out a way to pay her back because- you have to admit- that was awesome!
Later on, we picked up the two friends who I had texted.  By that time, the one friend was tired and had to get some sleep for an early morning shift.  The other two friends and I decided to go to a bar so I could get a couple of drinks.  Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I am not much of a drinker at all.  It's all good, right?  My friends urged me to get a Red Headed Slut as my first drink and I have to admit- it was a wonderful thing!  Those Red Headed Sluts definitely have something going for them.  One questionable act followed my completion of this drink though.  Almost as soon as I finished, my designated driver friend had a drunk moment- she went to reach for something and spilled her water everywhere!  Don't quote me or anything but, I am starting to wonder if that water wasn't spiked.  Someone needs to fess up.
My second and last drink ended up being the adventure.  Since one of my favorite characters is Georgina Kincaid from the Succubus Blues series, I decided to try her favorite drink- a Vodka Gimlet.  I am guessing that the bartender had never made one before because I got a curious look before she went back to make it.  When she returned, she sat the drink on the table and promptly wished me, "Good luck."  I don't think there is anything scarier then a bartender saying something like that to a customer.  You never hear bartenders wishing a Corona drinker good luck!  I took a drink and it was pretty strong but, pretty decent.  My companions each took a sip to mixed reviews.  One said it was good, the other said it was horrible.
A few minutes later, one of them noticed the end of a straw wrapper underneath the ice in the drink.  That wasn't enough to stop me from drinking the thing but, I did say something to the bartender about it before finishing.  You would think that she would offer me a free drink or to not charge me for it.  No such luck!  She did apologize though which is usually good enough for me for something so minor.  It's not like she spit in it or anything and since she DID wish me good luck and all, I was well warned- I guess.  Afterward, I was feeling pretty buzzed and we went home.  It didn't take me long to go to sleep since that's what drinking does to me.  This morning I woke up very nauseated which means only one thing- bring on the greasy food!  Since I am feeling better now, it suppose it worked.  Let's just hope that the home situation gets worked out sooner rather than later.  If not than I guess I have to buckle down and find a way to move out.  Wish me luck.
