Relief the Conventions are Over

Being the political theater junkie that I am, I found myself mesmerized the past two weeks watching the show. However, being as that bout of sciatica completed screwed up my walking, I've needed to resume my daily walking habit... badly needed that. Unfortunately I couldn't help myself last week and drove right home every night to watch the spectacle. This week I told myself I wouldn't do that... but I couldn't keep myself away from the TV on Caribou Barbie Night.

Last night I skipped Mr. McCain's speech, though. Apparently, I was alone in this endeavor as McCain's ratings were slightly higher than Obama's.

Anyway, the left over problem I have physically now is that all my muscles are really tight, including the back of the calves just below the knees and the ankles. So I'm having a hard time walking still. I think that resuming 40 minute walks daily will help. Yesterday I could only manage 20 minutes, but Tuesday I went for 40. I'm also taking the stairs in the mornings. I do finally see a doctor next Tuesday. I wanted my sciatica "cured" before I go in to meet a new doctor so that this won't be the entire focus of our visit, and I've mostly succeeded. Still, this will have to be part of what we discuss.

I have nothing else to say today. Bye, and welcome to the Age of Palin. (I predict this is how history will recall this period, if McGrampy wins. It'll run from about 2008 to 2025. Get used to it.)
