Get Cash Out Of Pants!

May 06, 2009 12:44

That note has been on my to-do list for two days. I left a ten dollar bill and a couple of ones in the jeans I wore for a walk on Sunday and I keep trying to remember to not forget to grab that back before I wash them....

Maine. I fell in love with a boy in Maine when I was about 13. His family owned a motel outside Portland where my mother and I were staying. He was about my age. I never summoned up the courage to even talk to him. He probably still has nightmares about that "boy who was staring at me" back in....

With the governor of Maine signing the bill into law today legalizing gay marriage in Maine, I was just thinking perhaps I could go look him up and finally, finally we could get married!

I have to say that the sting of having your state vote AWAY your rights is being mitigated by this year's series of improbable, unbelievable votes and court decisions in Iowa, Vermont, Maine, etc. What's the fifth state now? Massachusetts was first. Is it Connecticut? And polls are showing increasing support for gay marriage.

Also today, Marie Osmond (of the most famous Mormon family ever) came out in support of gay marriage, in support of her lesbian daughter. Way to go, Mom!

The times they are a changing. Now if I can just remember to get that cash out of my pants tonight...

proposition 8, gay marriage
