wow major time warp
So lets play a game of catch up shall we? It has been a year and about four months since my last entry so a lot has happened...... problem is I don't remember everything that would make for a good entry. Still I can hit the major ones and with everything you read you may realize how busy I have been and hence why this journal has been basically ignored.From late May to early June 2008 I visited with Elibeth and her family in Cebu City which is in the Philippines. I had a great time and easily the best vacation of my life. In part the best because I proposed to Elibeth and she agreed to marry me, I even got the approval of her family. I enjoyed the wonderful company and hitting the tourist spots out there along with the awesome beaches!
Well after I got home I had to start the rather lengthy and annoying process of petitioning my own wonderful (/sarcasm) government for Elibeth's visa that would enable her to come to the United States so we could get married. This expensive and time consuming exercise in bureaucracy maneuvering was enough to make my head explode. Luckily it didn't and we are on course to be married in June this year (2009) about a year after I left Cebu. I also hope to fly her Aunt and Uncle here for the wedding since they have been her guardians since her mother died.
So basically to earn the money for all of this I have been working my tail off during my works busy season which is between August and January, though during that time period I did manage to visit with family for my nephews' birthdays and Thanksgiving, though Christmas was a no go >< Still considering how busy I was I am amazed I managed as much time off as I did.
Well with the New Year I managed to finally get my old job back so now instead of being a production group leader I am back in my happy place of being a technician. Even though I make a little less money an hour it is so worth my sanity returning. Trust me on this one if I hadn't you would probably see my face on wanted posters for homicide by now (and probably multiple ones at that!).
So between that and now only one other thing has happened to me and that is I got into an car crash totaling my craptacular 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. Apparently the left front tie rod (part of the steering system) which I had replaced about a year and a half ago busted loose causing my car to go into the left lane. I sideswiped another car then did two 360s into a steep ditch hitting a tree. Luckily the other car involved was only dented and the driver not hurt at all, I was also fortunate getting only some bruises, as for my car like I said totaled. The totally ironic part about this is I just paid it off in full in December. Now after over a week of stress the bruises have healed and I now am making car payments (grrrrr....) on a 2009 Kia Spectra which has a better warranty, service plan, and safety features then my old car.
So despite the financial bind all that puts me in rather unexpectedly Elibeth is still expected to fly here the last weekend of April so we can get ready for the wedding. Between then and the wedding we will go visit my Mother and my Sister's family. We will also be attending the anime convention Animazement at the end of May which should be a lot of fun!
I will say this the insanity of the past year has made me glad I have good friends and family. Not to mention a better fiancee' then I deserve. So what can I say in the end life moves on at a steady pace sometimes with a little more excitement then you expected. Needless to say since the accident I have been a much better driver lol.
