For any characters interacting with Jeremy, the following article may be of interest, running first in the Gotham City newspaper but also circulating the internet and making national news with all the same facts:
SERIAL KILLER ‘JASON JONES’ APPREHENDED, IDENTITY REVEALED
One of the goriest serial killers in Gotham City history is now in custody, and he’s only 20 years old.
Jeremy Downs, alias Jeremy Moore, formerly of Miami, Florida, was finally caught by Iron Man last night, after a reign of terror lasting months. Under the moniker “Jason Jones,” which he has been known to sign at various crime scenes in his victims’ blood, Downs has been killing an average of one victim every two weeks since the beginning of this year. His costume consisted of only a hockey mask and dark-colored street clothes. His only weapon, a small but sharp hunting knife.
“He’s like our own personal Jack the Ripper,” the mayor has said. “It’s actually pretty cool.”
Downs may have continued his rampage untouched if not for the kidnapping of one-time friend Samuel Ainsworth, also 20, a week ago. It appears Downs was using Ainsworth as bait to lure mutual friends Blair Holmes, 21, and Helena Kyle, 19, to a secure location and murder all three. It is unknown why he strayed from his usual MO, which Gotham Police have described as “hit-and-run killings,” but the sloppy footwork led Iron Man right to him. All three potential victims are safe, although Ainsworth suffers from a heart condition which went unchecked without his medication, and is currently recuperating at Gotham General.
Downs is no newcomer to violence, either. At age 15 he was sentenced to four years in a Miami juvenile facility for murdering an older teen in identical fashion, although he had not yet thought to don a costume. He is also currently wanted in Florida for violating parole and fleeing the state.
He is being held at Arkham Asylum pending extensive psychiatric evaluation.
