Purpose, I dunno, for me, I am a Christian, I have considered all this about purposlessness and such. For me Christianity is not something to simply fill a hole or get me out of hell. My purpose is not to lead a "good" life, that is impossible. For me, my Christianity means to me, help people. To help to improve other peoples lives. I am majoring in social work right now, not because I want to make money, but because I want to help people in much more unfourtunate situations than me. This is truly showing people the love of Christ, maybe if I manage to impact enough peoples lives, help enough people, it will plant seeds that can grow to fruition, maybe they can find the real truth. Christianity is not rules, it is not this or that, it is love. Christ did not die for us so that we would follow all his rules. He died for us because we can't follow all the rules, because nobody can, and we all need mercy and grace. I see my purpose as passing that mercy and grace on to as many people as possible. Not to get their money or get them to

Might you consider that the fact that people feel the need to fill their life with purpose might also suggest that this inate "hunger" has something to satisfy it? If not in this world then in another?
If God made us for Himself, and we have cut ourselves off from Him, then a sense of purposelessness and longing for filling would actually be not only logical, but desired. Otherwise we would be like a paralized man, who does not feel pain and cannot tell that his legs are being slowly cut off.

I pray you find Purpose here.
