Recently I forwarded one of those insidious e-mail demons. The gist was that some folks where fucking up the rain forest so sign here and we'll mail off all the signatures off somewhere, and maybe someone, somewhere will give two fresh turds about it. So one of the people to whom I sent this questionably helpful devise off to responds to me. He says, someting like, well, I signed your thing but will any one care in Brazil? The following was my response. One could argue that, weather or not anyone cares, I/we have done some small part to bend this enormous jaded world to our will. Isn't that enough to make this exercise fulfilling. Can we change anything? Probably not. Does that mean that we, men of will, and passion about what we desire the world to be like should just give up. If we allow the knowledge of these things to rest upon us for the rest of our lives we will suffer. If we promote some small activism we have not only "done something" to alleviate our own sense of guilt, but actually encouraged others to do the same. Therefor, we have not only attempted to make the world notice our opinions, and we have not only enlightened ourselves but we have also done the service of allowing another to enlighten (unburden) themselves.

Thank you world for sending me some fresh perspective. Thank you for the messenger.
I believe that this comes frome that wieird sorce. That place where things that are bigger and better than you are come from. This represents my view, not only on this topic but on a great number of injustices in the world. Yami, I hope you read this. I think that you and I are so similar on this shit. We just get angry or hopeless about it all. Those reactions rarely help.
