After doing some research I am ready to make at least one prediction. Unless Al Gore enters the race or some filthy ( and I mean filthy, like goat-fucking filthy) secret surfaces about her, Hillary Clinton will be the democratic nominee for the president in 2008. In all of the current poles she is totally owning every state that matters except IL.
On the other side of the of the great rift, the terrain is much harder to read. Giuliani looks great right now but my guess is that his marital past and present will cause him a good deal of discomfort in the 3 ½ months until super-big- primary-extravaganza-day February 5. Fred Thompson might be un-electably stupid, Romny, un-electably morman.
Huckabee on the other hand seems like a great candidate especially if you are a member of the republican base but he just seems to be dissipating. I have no ready explination as to why he isn’t a bigger player.
So that leaves us with McCain. No, he doesn’t seem to be able to speak in a way that moves people. No, the war to which he has pinned his entire campaign isn’t going very well at all. And no, he ain’t no spring chicken brimming with hope and fresh ideas on how this country might become a more responsible member of the international community. But don’t forget about him. He might just surprise us.
God help us all.
