Scanning a sketchbook is difficult.
Hence why I am posting the evolution of my now finished 'Bucky and Cap' tegaki post instead today.
Also I like seeing how a drawing changes from beginning to end so...
Basically, this is proof that I PLAN NOTHING. This is why most of what I draw is really static. One of the reason I love tegaki is that it makes me feel happy when I draw self-indulgent static fanart.s
Anyway! First idea was to draw some Captain America fanart, complete with the shield. Then I saved and when I came back to it a few days later, I decided to include Bucky. And because I love Sebastian Stan and Sebastian Stan's Bucky, the whole drawing was quickly cannibalized by his face (aside: the original screenshot shows my browser, and three of the open tabs are sebastian stan pictures).

When I re-opened tegaki (5 days later, cause I'm a working person), I realized: 'Jesus, what's wrong with Cap's anatomy.' So he was quickly erased and redrawn. The original idea was to draw him with the new costume because it looks good (and I alread had reference pictures) but since Bucky had his WWII sweater, it seemed a bit weird. Hence the first movie costume, which is terrible to draw. How many belts can you put on a costume? NOT ENOUGH according to Marvel studios.

As you can see, there are no great changes here. I mainly changed Cap's costume after looking at some references. I had spent some time on his face - it doesn't look at all like Chris Evans at all but I like how fond of Bucky he looked.

More details on Cap's costume and some changes made to his face and hair. Same for Bucky, even though I didn't even bother to change the sketch of his hand. FACES and HAIR: the most important part. And just so you know: YES, Captain America has belts on his biceps. It's in his costume.

Face changes! I wanted the both of them to look a bit more tired and worn so I changed the expressions and added dirt on Bucky's pants. Bucky's crossed armed suddenly became impossible to manage so I put his hand in this position. Then I checked if I could actually do this with my body (spoiler: yes, but only because I'd drawn it first).
The banana-shape that had been placed near Cap's leg to signify 'Please draw a holster here' finally became some kind of bag and/or holster.

And the finished picture.
There are no key differences with the previous picture, it's just details: the noses, because I though the dark lines made them look weird; some bleeding because I'm a creep; the last belts on Cap's costume, which are sewn on other belts. THIS COSTUME.
I kept Cap's star for last because drawing stars is difficult.
