So... kain_du_ciel and I decided to RP a fic...

Ahem. This is Rebirth. This is our take on Axel's comment, "See you in the next life."
Hold on; it's gonna be a novel by the time we're through with it...
Note: I will be RPing Roxas, Marluxia, Demyx, Xigbar, Xaldin, Saix, Lexaeus, Riku Replica, Sora, & Tidus.
Kain_du_ciel will be RPing Axel, Vexen, Zexion, Luxord, Larxene, Xemnas, Namine, Kairi, Riku, Selphie, & Wakka.
This whole fic was her idea to begin with, not mine.

Rebirth: Prologue
Axel didn't know just how long he had been wandering in this... not-darkness. He just knew that he didn't plan on staying any longer than he had to. He was growing weary of the steady, dim illumination that seemed to come from no particular direction. He really missed the sun. The light... and his light. Roxas... he needed to find Roxas. If this was where Nobodies ended up, surely he couldn't be the only one here... Axel frowned as he saw something up ahead. A light. Something to break up the endless monotony of his existence, perhaps. He walked toward the light...
A door. It was white and covered with delicate carvings, pearly doors opened out toward him. He stepped closer.
Axel...
There is a choice ahead of you.
You must choose
You may remain here, in the Purgatory of Endless Twilight.
You may continue to the afterlife.
Or you may cross the threshold of the Door.
It is your choice.
What is your desire?
Axel started in surprise. He thought for a moment.
"I... I wanna find Roxas..."
And you will...
He has crossed to the other side...
So you must choose, Axel.
There is a Heaven, where you may put your soul at peace, and where you may watch Roxas...
And there is the other side... where you may be with him.
Axel knew it must be too good to be true. It seemed far to easy. Just step through and live happily ever after? Not likely.
"What's... the catch...?"
If you choose Heaven... you are only allowed to watch him.
Always will he be in your view, but you may never meet him...
In the other side, you must find him--
Axel felt a surge of hope.
"But I may be with him?"
Yes... but--
Axel didn't care about anything else anymore.
"I choose that other side."
You may not remember him...
You may not even find him...
Axel cut the Voice off. This was his second chance!
"I don't care! I want to be with him, I'll always remember him!" He touched his heart. "I'll keep looking, no matter what! I'll find him!"
The Door began to glow even brighter, nearly blinding Axel.
Axel...
Cross through...
Axel braced himself, then stepped into the light.
