I don't think it is time for a new bible. Merely, filtering the scriptures through the resounding gong of the law of love (a.k.a. The Golden Rule). If what you read doesn't match with that then dig into it and analyze what about it doesn't agree. Then look at those points closely through the law. If they still don't agree (that process can take years of study and reflection) then disregard them. Yes, I said disregard them, utterly and totally.

Some passages are meant to illuminate how much He can love and forgive. Some to teach us how to love and forgive. Others are there to show how man's selfishness is wrong. Others are there because of man's selfishness and thus the need for a filter. His ultimate filter, love.

I came across your post while trying to search for another post. I believe you need to make a stand at some point in your life and the bible is one of them. Without the word of God has can you have a standard in your life to base your life on? I believe you need to pray for clarity from God on what to do. Pray for clarity on which bible is the right bible for you. Pray for his strength to do what is right. (1 Thessalonians 5:17 ( ... )
