"Suck it up and drive on." -- Sergeant.
"Got no problem driving on, Sergeant, but it's all this damn construction..." -- Me

Today, I was scendualed for a 1510 (3:10pm as you civilians reckon time) flight out of Detroit Metro Airport. We left at 1310 (again, that's 1:10pm) giving us two hours to spare. We got to the airport at 1620 (4:20pm) and I had already reschedualed my flight for 1640 (4:40pm). The next flight I could get was on Sunday, 1130 (11:30 am... or is it? Mhuahahahah). Except, I have to be at my unit by 0000 hours tonight (Midnight). I called my Unit, talked to one of the Drill Sergeants.

Then we realized that my wife's wallet was missing. Had fallen out of the car... with her Credit Card and ID's. We got that squared away with the bank and Credit Card company, but she has no ID. Nothing. So she can't go to the airport with me or drive me there legally. *sigh* We spent a total of 5 hours on the road, making an hour and 56 minute round trip. It was ridiculous. Everywhere there was construction. EVERYWHERE. No construction workers or equipment, but they shut down entire roads. I think that after I hit M-94, I never saw another street that was not lined with orange and white barrels until we got to the north side of Detroit's suburbs.

On top of that, the Car's electrical system is getting wonky, our radio goes in and out (no biggie), but now the power windows and the power steering (somehow connected in the maze of wires) are going in and out simultaneously. I'm gonna have to have that fixed.

All in all, it's been a challenging day, but I've managed to keep my cool, rearrange things so I got everything done (including reschedualing my flight to GA and clearing it with my chain of command), and get Rachel a new credit card.

Can't I ever just have an easy day? Wait, I take that back.
