Nakai Masahiro: I don’t know. In my world, selling lots of CD and making a lot of money in the box office do not necessarily equal popularity. It is not guaranteed that songs sung by good singers will become big hits. I think “popularity” is a strange thing.
Y: SMAP’s success is probably a combination of individual powers and your wonderfulness as a team.
N: It is because the other four members kept growing and improving so rapidly. In this case I do not allow myself to slack off. I become desperate trying to catch up to them.
