So today has not been so hot, I woke up feeling pretty yucky and blah. I went to work anyway, because I need the money to purchase a car a guy is holding for me (we'll get to that in a minute, it's a lesser point compared to the meat of this update), and I was in and out of zoning/consciousness until around 3, when Kelly let me go because I apparently did not look so great.
I guess I need to stop partying until 11pm every night. (/sarcasm)
So I come home and I get on my computer to check a few things, and for no reason whatsoever I click into my student account here on campus to check the amount I owe the government, and find the amount has changed between yesterday and today.
By $500.00.
I check the list of tags, and get to this past Spring semester and find an awarded scholarship - the Governor's Scholarship - for the above amount. Well, I don't remember receiving a scholarship so I dialed up the Business Office because they've obviously made a mistake, and I get told Ricki in the Financial Aid office approved it for me, and it might be in my best interest to call her, or send her a card, something.
So I called her. Turns out someone was awarded the scholarship in the Fall, but didn't return in the Spring, so she found someone who looked to be deserving, with grades to show for it.
Apparently working my tuckus off for two semesters made an impression, because she awarded it to me.
It's renewable for two more semesters, $500 each semester.
I got a scholarship! Me! Of all people, me!
If I didn't feel like crap right now I would be dancing around in my room!

On the car subject - I have found a 1995 Lincoln Continental for sale via Craigslist (I love that site) and the guy is holding it for me until I get paid next month. So come the Fourth of July weekend, I may have myself a new luxury car to tool around in.
This car is loaded. Moonroof, heated electric white leather seats (front AND back), electric everything, air ride system, it's even got the old cellular phone system from back in the day still in it. 96,000 miles.
All for $1000. I mean come on, how sweet is that deal? The only major problem is the timing chain cover and gasket need replacing, which isn't that hard to do, probably take the good part of an hour and a half.
Today feels good. Now if I can only get my friend to feel the same way, I'll be in like Flynn.
I hope everyone else is having a great summer!
