HE IS! :DDDD Hm, I was just thinking about this and I think I know what you mean. It's hard to put a label on him that helps to think of as sort of 'foundation' of his character. I like building characters like that, too, so I'm not too troubled by it since I think not having this almost artificial main trait makes him... more immediately human, sort of? Like, it's so easy to think Teukie-the-character because the motherly-and-worrying thing just jumps out at you and then you go ahead and add more subtle traits. With Hyukjae, it's a lot harder to build him up as a character that still resembles what everyone knows because for that, you always have to pick out certain characteristics and focus on them because it's impossible to put a million tiny things in and have a full character come out. It's rather like a jigsaw puzzle--you see the million tiny things and then you shuffle them around and around until you have two or three bigger pieces that seem to fit together and some leftovers you might throw in once in a while, but that's how main characters are usually built. Two to three big characteristics that really define them and make them complex because they're maybe contradictory. With Hyukjae it just takes a lot more puzzling time to get to that point. Hm... I need to do that at some point. Maybe another meme. It helped a lot with Donghae, so maybe it'll get me to a starting point again? Kyuhyuk fic--I'M TRYING. BUT RN I DON'T KNOW WHY IT DOESN'T WANT TO BE WRITTEN. D: I need to develop Hyukjae first. What might also help is some meta. Do you have links for some good ones? Or do you have some of your own?
