This evening while I was dropping off gifts at the Hoech Hut, B informed me that she was very tired of checking my blog and reading about Monday Night Football. So B - this entry is so that you have something new to read.
I've been meaning to write for a long time because I've actually had some things to talk about, but I've been too lazy at times and too busy at others. So I give you a recap of the craziness from the past couple of months.
At the end of September, I started a new job and I really like it. I'm working with
Erik which is fun because he can tell me things like what he's getting Karen for Christmas and I can toy with her mind. It's a company unlike any other I've known, for not only do they actually reward their employees for good work, but everyone there works together as a team to get things accomplished (I KNOW). And then, there are the other things that make it offbeat but endearing - like the way we sing Christmas carols in our December Monday morning meetings.
Last month, Karen convinced me to sign up for the
the Breast Cancer 3-day wherein we will walk 60 miles in 3 days. Karen did it by herself last year a couple of weeks before her wedding because she's a little bit crazy (and a little bit rock and roll). We're doing the Dallas-Ft. Worth 3-day in November of next year, so we have a little under a year for training.
One morning while we were discussing the 3-day over breakfast at OHOP, we had another brush with celebrity (the third for the year - what the hell?). Karen and I were talking and I stopped in mid-sentence and stared while she tried to figure out if I was having a stroke. I wasn't. I was just eating 15 feet away from
Keith from Six Feet Under! We spent the rest of our breakfast watching him, trying to guess who the hot skinny white kid was in his company, wondering what celebrities ate for breakfast, and debating whether we should actually go and talk to him. We didn't. Good story.
I spent 2 very long weeks near death when I caught the world's worst flu which turned into a sinus infection and laryngitis. I pretty much only remember two things from that time period - super awesome prescription decongestant and thinking I was hallucinating when I saw the video below on my TV.
