Annabelle had her first day of school today.  We've decided she'll just be going to the preschool at Daphne's school to keep it simple.  I feel badly about giving up the co-op, but it would be a major pain in the butt to get her there and back and pick up Daphne at the same time.  Plus, they both go to the same place!  And they are both done at the same time!  Woo-hoo!

Annabelle will only be going two days a week, but it's kind of nice to have her home the other days and have the one-on-one time that has never been an option.

She had a great time, she tells us she made a friend, just one friend, she did not talk to anyone else, thank you.  The teacher tells us she talked all day long which is what she is there for (she's a peer model in the language preschool -- a talker among non-talkers) so I am glad that is working out.  She got to use the sandbox and ride a bike in the gym so she is happy.  We took them out to dinner tonight and she had a total control freak fit about getting MAC and cheese, instead of MACARONI and cheese, and I TOLD you what I wanted even though I never did.  She's a real "who moved my cheese?" girl, our Annabelle.

I went down to Democratic party headquarters, they had called me about volunteering last week and now I actually have  some time to do that!  I just did phone banking and data entry, but hey, that's something.  They are all very young and strident and disorganized and kept apologizing for all the beer bottles all over the place. (yesterday was the primary election) It was very cute.

Daphne got to try the piano and the trumpet and the saxophone this week.  Today was supposed to be the flute but there may or may not have been a discipline problem involving excessive love of the instruments and Daphne may or may not have been involved in that, I have heard a variety of creative takes on that from her.  Nobody at her school mentioned it so it couldn't have been all that serious.  She was supposed to try the violin and the bass tomorrow and friday, at least that is what my source tells me.  My source is often highly questionable on matters pertaining to school, but it's all good.

I doubled a recipe for pumpkin bread that turned out to already be doubled.  (oops!) So we will be enjoying much pumpkin bread for the foreseeable future.  At least it makes the house smell yummy.

I need to get the cooking class details ironed out one way or another by Friday.  It's turning into a huge PIA, but I don't really want to admit it because Jason said it would and he's wrong!  Wrong, I tell you!  But I'm definitely teaching the other one.
