Title: Phone Conversations

Summary: Ryo battles with his feeling for Uchi...while on his cell.

“I’m not going to tell him.”
Aggravated Groan.
“Well what are you going to then, Ryo? It’s not like holding back your feelings is getting you anywhere.”
Long sigh.
“I know, I know. But what if he doesn’t feel the same way? I just can’t risk the possibility of rejection.”
Angry Scoff.
“Listen Ryo, I’m getting very tired of your excuses...and middle of the night phone calls. We’ve been over this a million times; just tell Uchi that you have feelings for him already, so I can finally get some much needed sleep.”
Loud Wail.
“But I don’t wanna! Subaru you just don’t understand, this isn’t easy for me. If Uchi doesn’t feel the same way, I’ll be crushed! This is very sensitive subject matter, sleep can wait! What I need is a solution to all this, and fast.”
Low Mutter.
“No, what you need is therapy.”
Bitter Moan.
“Okay Subaru, could you please save the insults for some other time, and just tell me what you think I should do.”
Frustarted Cry.
“You want me to tell you what I think you should do? Well here’s what I think you should do--I think you should finally get some balls and just tell Uchi that you are in love with him, because no matter how much you try to deny it, you and I both know that it’s the blatant truth. I think you should stop worrying yourself about rejection, because I honestly believe that Uchi will not turn you down. I think you should stop asking me for advice, because deep inside, you already know what you should do. And I also think that in the future, you should consider calling one of the other guys with your love-life problems, because though this may be difficult for you to understand now, I am only one man, and I, alone cannot bear you pathetic whining and constant nagging. So in conclusion, just talk to Uchi, get everything out in the open, and let your problems solve themselves. Now, what do you think about that?”
Awkward Silence.
“Do I really whine that much?”
Loud Groan.
“Ryo, please don’t make me come over there and personally deliver an ass whippin’!”
Amused Snort.
“Personally deliver an ass whippin’? Oooh, I’m so scared! Tell me something Subaru, are you always this incredibly lame when you’re sleep-deprived, or is it a 24-7 thing?”
Short Pause.
“Okay, I’ll let that one go Ryo, because I’m a very forgiving person, and also because I wouldn’t want to hurt your little feelings while you are in such a pathetic state of being. Anyway, are you going to tell Uchi or not?”
Long Sigh
“I just can’t! Seriously, I can’t Subaru. Maybe you should run by me all the things you said earlier.”
Angry Groan.
“Listen Ryo, I don’t think I can take much of your idiotic behavior. I never thought it was possible for anyone to be that dense, but I was clearly mistaken. I mean, you’re being so ridiculously stubborn about this! It’s more than obvious that you have strong feelings for Uchi, there’s really nothing you can do about to change that, but I do also believe that there is a good chance Uchi feels the same way. I think the only thing you really should be questioning, is what Uchi would actually see in you. Let’s look at the facts shall we? He’s attractive, sensitive, funny and intelligent. Meanwhile, you’re…well I’d be surprised if you even had a brain.”
Shuffling.
“Um…is this going anywhere?”
Irritated Moan.
“Okay, I’m going to break this down so it’s a little easier for you to comprehend. YOU- Like Uchi. YOU- Tell Uchi That You Like Him. And finally, YOU- Leave Me The Hell Alone! Now do you get it?”
Thoughtful Pause.
“I think I’m starting to…but could you say it again though. This time, try to go a little slower.”

“Subaru? Subaru?”

A/N: Well that was the first (and very short) installment of a three part series. I should have the other two parts up pretty quickly, since I only wrote this story to put off from writing another chapter to 'Certainly Screwed' (writer's block is an evil bitch).
