More on this weekend later - AAMY.
I just got off the phone with Ryan #2. I only get to speak with him for about 10 minutes every 2 or three months when he's underway. (He's in Guam right now.) I do, however, e-mail him every week. (I did forget last week, but I kind of feel justified in not doing so, as I just spoke to him.) Ryan's excited. He's got exactly one year left in the military as of today. As far as he knows, his follow-up plans are to come home, pack up his stuff, drive across the country and go to college out in Seattle, most likely getting a degree in International Relations - something that is in no way similar to what he does now, sans, maybe, the travel. I'm sure lots of people know what it's like to count down to the end of a job and the beginning of a new one - a new life. I know I've done similar things before. The anticipation becomes crippling. I'm not sure if I could handle a year of that.
