Reusuable bags

Sep 02, 2011 23:56

woke up around 2 am due to thunderstorm moving in. I seem to be hair trigger waking up to thunderstorms lately.
Rained off and on this morning. Quit this afternoon and evening.

Laundry Day, Grocery day.
Normally, I bag our groceries. Often, there isn't anyone to bag for us. When there is someone to bag, they do weird things. Like put stuff that needs to be cold in with hot deli items (there was a special on some hot deli items today, so we got it for lunch). At least there wasn't watermelon on top of bread....

Time for bed. *hugs*

Starting the old tractor is a bit finicky, especially adjusting the choke just right.

Word of the Day for Friday September 2, 2011

finicky • \FIN-ih-kee\  • adjective
1 : extremely or excessively particular, exacting, or meticulous in taste or standards
2 : requiring much care, precision, or attentive effort

Did you know?
You may be familiar with an advertising campaign featuring Morris, the "finicky" housecat who would only eat a certain brand of cat food. Morris’s tastes in cuisine are not only very particular, but very fine as well, and that’s appropriate given the origin of "finicky." The word came about as an alteration of "finicking," itself an alteration of another adjective, "finical." It’s believed that "finical" derives from the adjective "fine." "Finicking" also gives us "finick," a somewhat rare verb meaning "to put on airs" or "to dawdle about."
