Reaping the rewards of April showers

Whee, gardening's been taking up a lot of my weekend time lately, as expected this time of year, I suppose! And unlike the past couple of years, it's not raining every weekend in such a way as to prevent getting work done.

Today I bring roses, and a curious guest.

First, the older roses. I don't know what the names of these are, unfortunately. They're just "that one over there", "the white one", "the tall one", and so on. ;D

A floribunda, one of the few closer-to-true-red bushes.

A tea rose. (This is "the tall one"; it refuses to spread out nicely and is mostly a single thick cane.)

Another floribunda~

One of the most productive bushes every year, a bit beaten by last night's rain.

One of this year's new additions, a floribunda called Salsa. The deepest red one I've got. XD

A climber called Dreamweaver. The brightest pink rose hereabouts.

This lovely peachy tea rose is called Nancy Reagan :)

It's called "Lovestruck". And I was. X3 Not only is it gorgeous, with the outside of the petals being lighter for contrast, the scent is wonderful -- light, sweet, and almost kind of fruity.

Sad to say, I don't remember the name of this one, it was planted last year. It's some kind of fire & ice variety, at any rate. It's got this beautiful silvery reverse, and -- I hadn't noticed until I saw the photos -- little brushes of purple? Eeee~

As for the guest... Well, we have dozens of squirrels here, and I don't usually bother taking pictures of them, but this was something new. XD

As far as I could tell, he seemed to be just soaking up the sun! XD Someone should tell him he can't tan...
