haven't posted in ages. this is probably due to the fact that i've been sick since just after Christmas! First Anthony had flu when we got back from Essex on the 27th, and then i caught it a few days later. but i haven't been able to shake being ill, so today was a doctors appointment who told me to take it easy because i have a severe upper respiratory infection. lovely. it's not even that cold here!!!
2011 begins my 2nd year living here in England. i have to say that i am starting to get a bit homesick for the States, and Anthony and I have a plan in motion to save up to move back there. I do love some aspects of England, but some of the social issues here, especially with how people treat their environment around them (constant littering, spitting phlegm all over on the pavement, etc) have me missing the clean streets of Wisconsin! i can't believe i'd ever get homesick, but it took a year for me to get that way. It could just be the town we're living in, Plymouth. it's not the nicest town in all of England, believe me.
Christmas was nice. No drama at all, and it was so wierd to hang out with my new family and not have a one of them fighting with the other. im so used to someone not speaking to someone else in my own family that this was a nice change. Cresswell Boxing day was really enjoyable, my father in law and uncle both blew condoms up on their faces which had me reeling in laughter, and we set off some awesome fireworks in the backyard. Rozzy took photos so as soon as i see them, i'll post them.
Anthony still hasn't heard about where he's getting drafted to next with the Navy; this is really really annoying! we know we're going to be moving this year but if we're just moving up the road to Plymstock or all the way to Portsmouth is what we're waiting to hear about. Portsmouth is where we're both wanting to go, as it's so much closer to the family and London and everything! down here in the West Country we're about 4 hours away from everyone.
other than that, not much happening around here. we're planning a trip back to the States in September for our first wedding anniversary. doing an awesome weekend in Chicago, then a week at the lakehouse, then a week visiting my family. sounds fantastic. i can't wait to get back to awesome Mexican food and my niece, Adilynn. by then i'll have a new niece or nephew too, as my sister in law is pregnant. so it'll be all good.
the only other thing thats news worthy is that im looking for a job. it's nails at the moment because nobody seems to be hiring! lol :)
i just read TIMELESS by Alexandra Monir. it was an awesome book and i recommend it to everyone. no vampires or werewolves, just a good story that travels back and forth in time. :)
alright, my couch is calling me for another round of sleep to kill this sickness. hope you are all alright! buzz me and let me know how you are!! <3 <3 <3
