The one thing that annoys me most about the fandom is that people won't give anything different a chance. For example, there is one artist who I love but who won't even read my stuff because I don't write slash. Also, because of my passion for AUs, I have been labeled a "badfic" writer and as such, I have gained a horrible reputation.
I do not like speculation on what hasn't aired yet, and I don't like obsessive nitpicking and I do not like slash fiction or explicit fics of any stripe -- but I will always love those who choose to do or write these things. Because we see the show differently doesn't mean they are "bad" fans or "wrong". I don't read for personal reasons, not because I don't like the writers. And all I have EVER asked is the same consideration.
