Summary: Peter muses on how overwhelming leadership is.
Sometimes, Peter mused, it was as though he'd never left school.
Every single day there was something to learn. Every single day - despite his high IQ, eidetic memory and his fluency in four languages - every single day he was slapped in the face by just how much he didn't know.
Peter led the Monkees. Technically, he and Mike co-led - but in practice, Mike was more like an advisor. Peter was the one who did the day by day - sometimes moment by moment - leading of this motley crew.
And sometimes it was more than he felt he could handle. It was those times where he would repeat to himself, "'I can do everything through Him Who gives me strength...'"
And sometimes Mike would break in with an image of Peter surrounded by his friends and family, each taking a bit of the load from him.
That would give Peter strength as well.
It was hard. But Peter kept going. Kept learning.
If life itself was a school, then Peter wanted to pass every exam. So far, he had a pretty good record.
So long as he always knew he wasn't in this alone.
