Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife
by Linda Berdoll
Copyright 2004
ISBN: 1-4022-0273

Not the best P&P sequel I've ever read (I think that's Letters From Pemberly), but not the worst either.

My biggest objection to this one is not the smut, but rather the author's need to cram as many regency romance tropes into a single novel as she possible could. I think the novel would have been improved if Berdoll has been content to explore the character's day-to-day lives without constantly shoving crises at them.

As for the rather smutty element in the book. Elizabeth and Darcy are a happily married couple, therefore sex is part of their lives. That said, the author didn't need to show us quite so much of it. Be warned: this is a book for grownups!
