My Brain in Action

Earlier today I was listening to music on my iPod. "The Grog Song", from Michael Longcor's album Boarding Party, came up. On a whim, I looked up a recipe for grog.

Seemingly unrelatedly, this recipe for limoncello has been bouncing around in my head for a couple weeks.

About 20 minutes after the song ended, the two ideas collided and struck a spark.

I'm going to try to make a grog cordial.

My plan is to start with the limoncello recipe, with the following modifications:
- replace half the lemons with limes (the grog recipe linked above uses lemon juice, but I saw just as many that used lime juice)
- add a cinnamon stick or two with the peels
- reduce the grain alcohol/everclear/high-proof vodka to 750 mL and make the difference up with dark rum
- use raw or brown sugar instead of white to make the sugar syrup (I kind of want to use molasses, but I'm not sure how it would affect the amount of liquid I'd need. Maybe for a later version.)

What do the masses think? Any suggestions or ideas?
