Body: The bruise on my left leg is still there, but it seems to have stopped even the little bit of hurting it was doing yesterday. Everything else still feels pretty good. I love warmer weather!

Book Review: I finished An Echo in the Bone: A Novel (Outlander)
, the most recent book in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. This is more a general review of the whole series than of this specific book. For a fantasy loving history geek like me, these books are catnip. There's a very well done magical time travel element that the main characters are trying to figure out, both how it works in the first place and how to use it more safely. There are tons of wonderful details about day-to-day life in 18th century Scotland and America. There are multiple love stories, showing relationships with realistic levels of both problems and joy. Actually all the relationships, whether romantic, familial, or friendship are done very well. And yes, there are sex scenes, but they're mostly written with restraint and realism. You also never get the impression that Gabaldon wrote the sex scenes to titillate the reader, but rather because that's what the characters truly would be doing in those circumstances. Rating: 9 out of 10.

Reading: I couldn't decide what to read next, so I turned out the light without starting anything new.

Hearing: The Commonwealth Club's radio show.

Wearing: Today's perfume is Water of Notre Dame (go to the very bottom of the linked page.) It's a pleasant, understated, slightly watery (duh, given the name), slightly citrusy scent.

Etsy find: A Tree of Life pendant. Silver, and moonstone, and blue Swarovski crystals. This could have been made for me.

Project Follow-up: I got recruited to shuttle my younger siblings around yesterday evening, so I didn't get either dishes or knitting done.

Tonight's Project: Another attempt to do both dishes and knitting. Maybe I'll put in a movie and try to knit while I'm watching it.
