I DON'T suck at summaries.

It's nothing new. No, actually, it's something many people have talked about before. Many people have been annoyed about before.
Anyway. I don't care if I repeat myself, or others, it just annoys me to no end every time and I have to get it out of my system.

FF(.net) authors, what the hell is your problem?
I scroll through the first page of stories of one of my favorite shows, and at least every second summary reads "I suck at summaries. But story is good... yadda, yadda".
You know what this makes me do? Continue scrolling. Because I don't feel like reading a story where the author obviously has no self confidence at all. When you write and post a story, write a short summary, one or two sentences, and NOTHING ELSE. Maybe a spoiler warning if necessary. I don't care about the other stuff. I don't even want a highly literary or poetic summary. But I also don't want to read that infamous standard phrase named above. You have no idea how much it gets on my nerves.
Really, writing a summary isn't the hardest thing in the world. You've just written a story - if you don't manage to write a decent summary, then I simply have to assume that the story is, well, even *less decent*.

And, by the way, don't beg for reviews. Stories are posted on the web to get reviews. Everyone saying they only post their stories for fun and so others can read them are lying. Sorry. I don't share what I've been working on for hours, days, weeks, years even, just like that. I want to have something for it. Everyone needs a little bit of appreciation. Fanfic authors' appreciation are reviews. No one will say "Nope, thanks, don't want any, just read and leave me alone." NO ONE. Really. So don't beg. It's just as annoying as that phrase above. People know you want reviews, and those who usually don't give any (by the way - shame on you!) won't give them only because you ask them to (or demand reviews).

*takes a deep breath*

Yep. Better.
