After a Long Hiatus...

I have recently begun work on my play again. This is a side project for fun. I'm planning on finishing another round of editing and then hosting a play reading to hear how it sounds out loud.

Some background on it: It's a 5-act Elizabethan style play written in iambic pentameter. But there's a spin on it that I don't think has ever been thought of or done before. I started writing it for a Creative Writing for the Theater class I took in 2003. Back then, I realized I had a natural knack for it and decided to keep going with it. It's seen a lot of revisions and even a self-directed short film.

I chose the subject matter to deal with a difficult situation I was in. I'm hoping that working on this again affords the same catharsis.

All that being said, writing in iambic pentameter can be at times very easy and fluid, and other times it can be completely frustrating. For example, I'm stuck trying to think of a one-syllable word to describe this atrocity that happened. Back then, it was like the worst thing that had ever happened to me. I had never heard of such a thing. It was ridiculous. Laughable. A joke. Joke! Awesome, that's why I have a journal. Thanks, journal! <3
