I ended up taking oodles of kitten pictures today - purely for me and the owners, but then I decided they "counted" for this purpose too. Because, well, why not? And Grandma would be so proud ..
First we have the charming Biscuit in chase-the-pink-fur-mouse - also featuring the hand of
pauljleake.
Later, she tackled a ball of velcro-ness - apparently intended to go in a tumble-dryer to de-fluff clothes, these things are among her favourite toys.
As discerning - or exceptionally sad and bored, possibly - readers will note from the first photo, Paul and I were watching Firefly this afternoon. At the end, naturally, we opened the DVD drawer to get the DVD out. (Can anyone explain ?why DVD-players have "eject"buttons on the remote? You've got to be by the machine to take the disc out anyway!) This caught Truffle's eye, and he was clearly perplexed. So we closed it again, still remotely. He was further perplexed. Biscuit came to investigate. Open, kittens retreat in alarm; close, kittens approach and sniff in confusion. Much hilarity is had by humans, and who is to say that we were toying with them and not vice-versa?
Later, as I lounged upon a sofa, Truffle came and sat on my legs. So I photographed him. At the time I didn't find myself thinking that his collar-tag looks strangely like a tie, given his white front that looks a bit like a shirt on a black suit, but now that I look at the photo ... OK, perhaps I'm hallucinating. I give you, in any case, Truffle.
After a while, Biscuit came to join him. Then they fell asleep. So did my legs. It was worth it - hurrah for purring kittens!
(This thing is playing silly buggers with my image sizes. I wonder what to do about it?)
