Carpe Diem
I'm now a brunette. It's kind of redish brown, actually. Not really what I was going for, but in 6-8 weeks I can go pay another hundred dollars to have it changed. I'd kind of rather shave my head and start wearing really cool scarves and wraps. I'll soon post pictures on facebook. We went to the fanciest party I've ever been to in Detroit at the Detroit Athetic Club last weekend for Michael's company's 100th anniversary party. Amazing! I wore a lovely black coctail dress, pearls, pumps, etc. It was so nice to see Mikey in a suit too.
I need to say that I've had my head spinning just trying to wrap it around this event in Fayetteville, NC, where a 5 year old girl was sold into prostitution by her mother and the child was found dead the next day. How fucking horrific. How angering when you cannot have a child of your own and others can just spray them out like fucking lysol. Totally irritating. I have to be honest....and I didn't even tell Michael this because I was too embarrassed, but I saw this on Monday morning news and I started crying so hard about it and it's complete and total atrociousness. It put me in such a funk I decided to call in sick. Michael thought I was just staying home, but I think I was just overcome with the state of the world. How can such things happen? Anyway....
Delimma of a lady that actually has money for a Christmas present for her husband (and I've never before, seriously):
I'm trying to decide if I should buy Michael a PS3 for christmas or not. I looked online at Best Buy and I'm seeing $350-$400!!!!!!! I think that's about 3 times as much as we agreed we could spend on each other this year. I also know our DVD player is about to poop and we'd need to buy a new one and a sound system for it anyway, which would run about $100-$150. I figure that if the DVD player doesn't poop by the end of the first week in December, then I'll go get it for him, but if it does.....do I ruin a Christmas present and tell him not to get a new DVD player because I've already gotten him the PS3 or do I just not get it for him?
