This past weekend we went to Downata Hot Springs with Tyler's fam. It was a lot of fun we stayed in Tepees. On Friday night it rained really hard and the tepee leaked...of course it was on my sleeping bag. Friday we spent the whole day at the pool and waterslides. Jodi watched Brig in the morning and we kept a life jacket on Ethan so it was fun. I even was able to go down the water slide. Hailey and Ethan were even brave enough to go down the waterslides by themselves. Hailey likes to play with her cousin Karlee, it is kind of interesting to watch the dynamics of their relationship. For example Hailey asked me if she could put her swimming suit on, it was about an hour before we were going to leave for the pool, I told her she could, so Karlee asks her mom if she can put her swimming suit on and her mom says no. Hailey then comes up to Karlee and says hey lets go put our swimming suits on and Karlee say....no I don't feel like it..lol just because she didn't want to say my mom says I can't. Another thing that happened is Hailey was reading Karlee a book she got at the library and Karlee was being kind of rude and grabbing it away. I saw and told Karlee to be nice and told her she needed to treat others the way that she wants to be treated. I kind of get on a soap box to my own kids about treating others with kindness because I really believe that you should treat others the way you want to be treated even if they aren't treating you kind (defending yourself from bullying is totally different). Tyler had to leave in the afternoon to go back to the farm, but I really enjoyed the time that I had with him while he was there. Saturday morning was a rough morning because I was trying to pack the kids and I up to go home by myself. Hailey and Ethan didn't get enough sleep and when they are tired they are a lot more difficult to handle. The ride home was fine. I wasn't too worried since I make so many trips to Utah by myself.

The other day I took my kids to the Oakley Pool to swim. There has been an interesting looking man around Oakley for a few days. He looks like a homeless man...very shaggy hair that looks unwashed and dirty clothes. When I saw him I felt compassion for him. Really we don't know the situation he is in and why he is where he is at in life, but I do know that seeing my brother as an addict has changed the way I perceive a lot of things. As I was sitting at the pool one of the ladies that had just left the pool came up and said "there is a strange man wandering around Oakley, make sure you keep a good eye on your kids." This really bothered me. Most kidnappers and molesters don't "look" like what they are, if you know what I mean. After that I stopped at Clarks (our local grocery store) and picked up a few items and who do you suppose I saw in there? The homeless man. I said hello to him and he said it was a beautiful day and I agreed and he asked me if I went swimming and I said yes. He told me to have a nice day and I said "you to" and I left. I believe that we are all of Gods children and he loves us all the same and it makes me feel so bad when I see people treated poorly. I supposed the situation made me want to make sure I am even more compassionate for the people around me.
