My father did my taxes for me, and informed me yesterday that I am only getting $86 back. I find this to be incomprehensible. He says I made about $8200 last year, which I suppose must be true since he did the math. I just wonder where the hell all of that money went. Apparently I spent it, but I would just think that I’d have a hell of a lot more stuff at this point after spending $8200. I've got to start saving more.

I spent the majority of Friday helping to seal about 3,000 invitations and then stamp them. (When you bulk mail, you don't use regular postage stamps. Don't ask.) Normally, this would not have been a big deal. But only the two people that everyone hates showed up to work on Friday, and everyone else failed to inform me they would not be there ahead of time. So I walked in and found them at the conference room table, and was trapped. Given that one of them is my boss, I couldn't exactly just turn around and walk out, though I very much wanted to.

In other news, my big fat lying failure of a brother has actually applied to college. He told my parents that he already had, and then tried to claim that the school "never got his application". I don't understand how my parents ended up with two intelligent children and one idiot. Especially since he was the first; it's not like the good genes were all used up. My father was royally pissed when he found out that Matt had lied, but my mother (predictably) just made excuses for him and argued that he didn't lie. Dad is now on Mom's "shit list" (as he calls it) for telling Matt that no matter what, he had to be out of the house by next January. Not only is he 24 years old, but that's a year from now!I told Dad that he should just boot Matt out now and let Mom be pissed, because she'd never actually do anything about it. He told me that I didn't have to live with her, or I wouldn't say that.

As Opa always used to say (obviously while shaking his head sadly), "My only grandson, and he's an idiot." He always said it as though he was kiddding, but one begins to wonder if he didn't know what was coming.
