chuck doesn't care
Because everyone is out of town or busy and I'm tired of talking to Chuck, I figured I'd use lj as my outlet for expressing how much I love McCain's and Obama's speeches at that Alfred E. Smith dinner. I don't know who Alfred Smith is, but I am so appreciative of the comic relief and breaking of the ice. The speeches were great, I think also because they subtly undermined the stupid, tension-inducing drama we see all day everyday on the news channels. This is a very important time and issues should be taken seriously, but at least for me, it was a nice reminder that in fact our world is not on the brink of implosion.
