Well, you can't say my black stripe jacket isn't fun! It is also far from sutble! Geez... I'm not sure I haven't skipped "chic" and gone straight to "circus tent" but you will be able to find me in a crowd anyway ladies!
I'm liking the faux button idea, so far I'm leaning toward the black, which is too bad because I have tons of those vintage white bottons and just the four of the black. What I really need are some of cut jet Victorian buttons. I wonder if the bead store still has those black glass Czech buttons... or I have some nice vintage black velvet (salvaged from an old pair of Hollywood pants) I could cover covering buttons with.
What do you think of the sash? It's a little whimpy 'cause it's just ribbon. Nice double sided poly ribbon though. I might be able to make it less stiff if I throw it in the washer... but do I need it?

Also do you like the sleeve with the plain black double ruffle or with the yellow trim. I'm leaning towards sans yellow.
I think the wider black ruffle on the peplum is working... thoughts?
