Both of my corsets arrived on Friday but I didn't have time to do more than open the boxes and say "ohh pretty" until Sunday. So I had the Great Corset Lace-Up on Sunday afternoon. I tried on Val's, then the Frederick's then my old black one.
Black corset - still doesn't fit. Which is good because that means it's still too small.
Val's corset - doesn't fit. There is no gap at the top and it's a little short-waisted to be comfortable. Really too bad as it is well made and quite comfy except for that. Moo.
Fredericks - my favorite out of the three. I hate the poly fabric it's made of (I was much cooler in Val's) but it gives the shape I want, is the length I want and gives me the smallest measurements, particularly in the hips. So the Fredericks it is. I will be adding some boning, buying proper lacing and replacing the current lace with the pretty black lace/stripe ribbon Suzi gave me. So I do have to work on it but less than starting from scratch.
I’m trying to decide if I should replace with spiral steel boning or just reinforce with Ridgeline. Opinions? (Suzi?)
