Snowmageddon 2011

Jan 12, 2011 19:53

The East Coast got two feet of snow today, in case you hadn't heard. We actually had a snow day today. Yay!

I didn't take photos. There's enough of that on Facebook.

A friend said this was the worst blizzard we've seen since the year she was born, 1978. Apparently she was born in a blizzard.

It was a very low-key day. Lily had a bad stretch around 4-5 a.m., but I finally got her to sleep in her crib and she slept in until almost 9. Of course, I was up at 7:30. I just had to make sure the snow really came and the day care was really closed and work was really canceled. I had prepared nothing the night before, and it made me nervous. Like a kid who didn't do her homeworking hoping school will be closed.

James got a little stir crazy around 3 and decided to make a grocery run. He spent about 45 minutes digging out the car. I felt bad for a minute, but then I thought, "Hey, I did it last time." That thought was immediately followed with, "Last time was only about 3 inches of snow."

Spent the day watching Star Trek: TNG and playing with the baby. Did a little laundry. That's about it.

Snow days are good.
