This is awesome.
I gave my students this assignment to get them thinking about what would happen if Halifax was suddenly taken over, and everything was changed (we're just starting to study the Berlin Blockade). This is what one of my students wrote, and I was cracking up:
"Well, for one thing, I would get the hell out of there. I wouldn't listen to anyone that would want to control my life besides my parents, but I never listen to them anyway. Th advantages of controlling Halifax might be cleaning up the North End of Halifax and stop the G-Units from always fighting people. I think the worst thing that would happen if someone took over Halifax would be what Cuba has [dictatorship] and we would be paid next to nothing for work and live in shit places. What would change for the best, well, our city might clean up and look as clean as Calgary. I would be afraid if something like this ever happened because I might not ever see my family again, drive my car or see my friends and that would really suck."
G Units. Hell yes.
These guys drive me NUTS but sometimes they are hilarious.
