APOCALYPSE IS COMING!
...not in a religious or insane sense, but in terms of the environment.
Word has it, in recent scientific studies, that the next seven years will determine the future of the planet. If we carry on as we are; an overpopulated planet overusing resources, using up water & releasing HUUUUGE carbon emissions, we're doomed for some kind of apocalyptic event in about 2050.
This event could be either running out of water, global warming having changed the conditions of the earth such that they are no longer appropriate for humans, running out of oil, OR a world war about any of the aforementioned issues.

from The Environmental magazine about how eating meat is the worst possible thing for the environment. It has all kinds of statistics, percentages & scientific studies, proving that rearing animals for meat damages the environment faaaaaaaar more than anything else we do, INCLUDING driving cars!! Just think about all the land, water & grain that goes into looking after & feeding these animals whilst they're alive. Think about all the carbon emissions produced by such a business that does sooo much transportation & runs all kinds of factories & slaughterhouses! it only makes sense to go veg, it's actually the easiest & most effective thing you can do for the environment. Not all of us can afford electric cars, organic food or recycled products, but veg*nism is something within reach for ALL OF US!!
Other than that, do WHATEVER you can for the environment:
RECYCLE,
buy locally-sourced foods,
customise old clothes, or swap with friends/family, instead of buying new ones so often,
Don't drive, take public transport instead,
and most importantly,
DONT HAVE KIDS!!!!
If you want a child, ADOPT! There are so many kids already in existence without parents or homes, why don't you save one of them and give them a great life, making them happy, instead of contributing to the end of the world?!
The American elections are coming up, and Obama plans, as i'm sure you all know, to make changes. He wants to help protect the environment. McCain, on the otherhand, wants to drill for MORE oil!!! and BAN ABORTION. So if he gets into power, we're effectively doomed. It's unfair that the whole world doesn't get to vote on the American elections because they will affect the entire world & it's future. Only the Americans decide if the world will be destroyed or not. So to all of you reading this that are American, PLEASE, don't just think about America & it's short-term financial gains, think about the future of our planet & vote Obama!!
It's soooo depressing what our world has become. We're essentially doomed. I'm doing my best; i'm vegan, i don't drive, I recycle as much as possible, i'm not gonna have kids. But most of the world are stupid and ignorant. Sarah Palin being a prime example - not only is she against abortion, but she also believes that global warming is a myth!!!
Another depressing fact is that the world's population is rising by over 6 MILLION per month. gah!
What humans have done to the world out of their own greed and selfishness is PATHETIC :(
