Poor Xander! But I'm glad Spike found him and even if it took them such a long time they have each another now! Great! Thank you!
Very intense written. Awesome!

You captured well the pain of losing all those you've loved, and the emptiness when life has lost its meaning. A painful (yet delightful) read. Doc Saunders was a great (and long-suffering) character, and I like that Spike appeared as savior--but not too soon.

This was marvelous! It really was.

You covered a lot of ground here and the pinpoint detail was exactly right, nuanced and just... pretty. I really enjoyed this [yes - angsty, and typically angst isn't enjoyable per se, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending]. This line, especially, was perfect - bitter sweet and so in character: "Buffy would look at him occasionally, her eyes shining a little too brightly with a contentedness that said she was happy he would live on, passed them."

Trust Spike to remind Xander what living is all about - that's a perfect irony that's really true to his character too.

I'm honored that you thought of me when you posted this.

P.S. Is Doc Saunders a deliberate Dollhouse reference? Or am I just that big a nerd?

I'm so glad someone picked that up! I wasn't sure whether it would be too obscure for most people. Doc Saunders was very deliberate.

I'm glad you liked it :)
