(no subject)
Wow - I haven't really posted in here in eons. I mean a real post, something with substance. I'm sure 99.9% of it is because of facebook, but recently the weather has been nice and I have been trying not to be online every spare second. Teh internet is boring.
Early last week (or it may have been the one previous) I was on Amazon hoping that one of my favourite shows, Third Watch had finally been released on dvd and saw that Khaled Hosseini had released his softmore novel "A Thousand Splendid Suns. I immediately ordered it, along with A Fine Balance, the new Amy Winehouse cd and an Ashtanga yoga dvd. That same day I re-read the entire Kite Runner novel and have been waiting for the delivery of my amazon purchase. It came on Friday and I finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns" today. I absolutely loved it. I haven't read a good book in such a long time and what's on my read list this year has been somewhat disappoining.
(Although I recently read Vincent Lam's Giller Prize winner - "Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures" which I also really enjoyed.) Great collection of intertwined short stories.
Jason and I spent the day at the beach yesterday with Saidie who got sand in her cooch and has been rubbing her hind end on the floor ever since. And I have bathed her, so if this doesn't ebd soon I am going to have to take her to the vet.
And now I must clean my filthy, filthy house.
