oooh, interview.....

1. What famous person would you most want to meet and why? Tough one. I'm not really star struck but I also just can't pin it down to just one person I'd like to meet. So, Ed Norton because he's smart and sexy and we could make out, Angelina Jolie for the same reasons. Anthony Bourdain (even though I have "met him" before) so that we could sit down and have some drinks and talk food. Posthumously, Queen Elizabeth I because she led a fascinating existence.

2. Would you consider yourself to be in a job that's ideal for you? What would you change about it if you could? Another tough one. I've only been in my new job for less than 3 months, and although I really enjoy it and parts of it are challenging I don't know if any one job could be truly labelled as ideal for me. I don't know what I would change; I have the ability and control in my position to make a large percentage of changes. Ideally, I would win the lottery and open a bookstore/cafe in Paris.

3. What kind of animal was your first pet, and what was its name? Do you have any fun stories about this pet that you'd like to share? My first pet was a Yorkshire Terrier named April that I got for my 4th birthday. I don't have too many memories of her - my parents gave her away a few years later.

4. What do you like most about being Canadian? Least? What's not to like? I think that Canada is a progressive country that I am proud to be a native of. I love that most Canadians care about being Canadian - and keeping ourselves that way. I like that despite being currently governed by Conservatives that we recognize gay couples as married, that human rights is important to our country along with the environment (however there is serious room for improvement there) and that we generally are friendly people, and have a very specific sense of humour. Just check out Corner Gas or The Rick Mercer Report. I find this sort of humour encompassing of Canadians in general. That Canada is part of the commonwealth and our education system is far above other 1st world countries. I'd like to think that Canadian's in general embrace adversity, rather than have a melting pot sort of society, but as much as I like learning about other cultures I absolutely hate when immigrants don't speak English or French. I also enjoy that our chocolate here has less wax content than American chocolate bars. That cops here don't normally take out their guns while pulling you over. What I like least? Our sometimes low dollar, our Conservative government morphing us into Americans, taxes, and our immigration policy. Sometimes Quebecers and their sovereign bullshit. I also don't like that I can't shop at some stores in the States online because they don't ship here, but I don't like American big box stores moving here and killing the Canadian content, so I'm a little hypocritical here.

Bet you weren't expecting that, eh?

5. How long have you and Jason been together? What originally attracted you to him? We've been together for about 4.5 years. I initially liked that he was smart, sarcastic and seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I never really dated nice. But after 4+ years together, sometimes 2 sarcastic people turn into The Bickersons and fun turns into mean. Ah well.

Want me to interview you? You must post in your blog the questions and answers. Leave a comment. :)
