So, after several weeks of stress and crap and "srsly? why did I think becoming a keeper of the printed word would be a good career choice in the 21st century?" I finally had a pretty awesome day yesterday:
Awesomeness the first:
I managed to (sorta) meet a major deadline on Thursday. Despite getting two? weeks notice rather than three months, I was able to turn in (a bare bones version of) my event plan for December through February. I mostly just have the dates and some of the major themes picked out, but I figure that will have to do for now.
Awesomeness the second:
I got compliments at preschool storytime. for realz. And everything went smoothly - as smoothly as anything with a roomfull of 2 to 5 year olds goes, anyway. And I got to read books to little kids, which is always fun (so long as I have enough time to request in good ones to read).
Awesomeness the third:
I feel like I am getting to know my teens - and getting a better handle on their behavior. [shuffling. I had never hear of the term before last week - outside of card games or walking. but apparently shuffling is The Thing. that and - like every other group of teens I have ever encountered in a library setting - they keep wanting to know why they can't play M rated games in the library. Can we play this M rated game? How about this one? What if everyone in the room is cool with it? How about then? :p] Also, we have been getting enough teens to our afterschool hangout cafe thingie that I feel more than justified in limiting participants to teen cafe to, you know, teens. Starting next week. (the kidlets have been given fair warning)

Today was unfortunately mostly just stress and lots and lots of book processing (oh, how I miss the automatic book sorter at the other library). Until! someone (I do not know who, I did not get to talk to him) dropped a poster-sized one of these off at the library:
I've been laughing hysterically pretty much ever since. I soooo need to get it framed and hung up in the teen section.
After searching for where I can buy more,* I discovered that it is a fan made poster. It - and many others (mlp themed, not read themed) - can be found
here at deviantart. Oh internets, I love you so.
* yes, I am a complete dork and checked the ALA site first. but was not terribly surprised when an image search turned up several brony sites instead.
